My dear & tired friends,
ELYSE--loving the pictures of you & the kids. Looks like you are enjoying your time so far, and that was only the first day! I'm so excited that you are on this journey, and I so long to be there with you all. I will live vicariously through you.
PETER--the picture of you doing a bag race with the kids, oh my. so presh. (just what you wanted to hear, I know.) I'm glad that you got to go on this trip...how incredible.
ANDREA--First of all, my only regret of you being on this trip is that I won't have your amazingly witty comments to read. However, I'd say the positives outweigh it. I'm so glad that this worked out for you with school...I know the kids are already in love with your fun & infectious spirit.
NATALIE, my love--I can't begin to tell you how proud I am that you are on this trip after being in Jamaica only MONTHS ago. What faith to believe God when He led you to this and to work hard to make it happen. Know that you are there for reasons--reasons bigger than loving adorable African children even. I am praying that God speaks to you & through you. Be open to His guiding & Spirit. I love you dearly.
MARK--I hope that this journey has started off well for you. And I pray that each day only brings new revelations and a deeper understanding of God's love to you & through you.
ZAC--Please have the best experience ever in Africa. I can just picture the kids following you around. So fun. I hope you find food to sustain you on this journey, or that you've packed enough clif bars for your time there :]
COURTNEY!--My love. First of all, just because you may or may not be a large contributor to this blog does not mean that you do not have to put pictures of yourself up because I want to see them! And second of all, I love you. And third of all, I'm so glad that you are in Africa with such an awesome team (including Peter!). Fourth of all, I hope you have a great trip and that this time in Africa reveals something in new ways than previous trips to Africa. And fifth of all, I love you (again).
P. ERAN--I can only imagine how tired you all are. I pray for strength as the team leader, and guidance for God's mission during your time.
ANDREW- HEY! I'm really glad you got to go on this trip too. And I hope that you have a great experience, and that your heart is opened up to God's will for having you on this trip.
MAYA-- I LOVE that picture of you with the little girl. The love you are giving to these children is so very evident.

Be strong team. When there is no physical rest, find rest in God. You are so dear to me.

Those photos are great...keep them coming! By looking at the pictures no one would ever guess that you just started your trip...it looks like God is already at work through you! Went to the service tonight at church and just wanted to let you know that you all have a lot of people praying for you back here at home! Our love to Mark and Zac and the entire team...

So proud of you all! It is evident that you are already pouring yourselves out in love on the people you are encountering. Can't wait to see more of your journey over these next weeks!

This message is specifically for Andrea-

Amanda and I decided that we are going to set up a "while you were out of the country" blog with pictures and updates of what is happening back home. Like Day 1 We missed you alot, Dave ate dinner alone, Phillies won their game, and oh yeah we missed you. Pictures to come...

See how great that would be?!

Secondly we were proud to see the effects of GAFT still live on with a photo of yourself. However, we would like to petition for a picture with you and tiny african children smiling. And if you could work a posing elephant baby that would put it over the top. Love you and praying for you and the team. Hope you are blessed by your time in Africa and by this message.

LOTS OF EAST COAST LOVE,
Rachel and Amanda
Founder and Co Founder of GAFT Ministries

P.S. Don't stress too much. I heard that it could affect the pregnancy.

P.P.S. That was Amanda's comment.

What a blessing you are to the people you are encountering on your trip. But perhaps you don't realize what a blessing you are to those who are following along from home.Seeing the love of God in each one of you is so amazing. Elyse, love seeing your smiling face with that handsome little boy. May our Lord bless and keep each one of you as you share the wonders of his love with others.
