Wednesday Highlights

Hello friends and family!

It's late here, and we have a packed out ministry schedule tomorrow, so this entry will have to be brief!

This morning we did a bit of shopping at the coast before heading to our "home base" at NAMTI (Assembly of God Bible College in Otjiwarongo). We met with the local missionary and another local pastor for lunch, and then we went to visit the settlement of Kalkveld where we will be building the well and doing ministry! It was so incredible to meet with the local official about the well project. She shared that their community leaders are very impressed and pleased with our desire to help their community, and they will be moving forward with the project! Most of the settlement is unemployed due to not having access to water, and it was exciting to hear how something as simple and overlooked as water has the ability to turn all of that around (especially when given with the SPIRITUAL water of Jesus also!). After our brief visit, we finally made it to NAMTI, where we spent the night practicing our dramas and worship and children's ministry - our team is absolutely incredible. SO talented and ambitious and fun and passionate! Just to give one of many examples... Chris Young's bass guitar was left in the first city we stayed in, and we just realized it tonight. Fortunately, it has been located and will be shipped to us tomorrow night. In the meantime, Chris didn't even skip a beat - he decided that he will learn to play the missionary's guitar so he can still play with the worship team tomorrow for our big community outreach! And there are so many more stories like that...

Tomorrow we are looking forward to an incredible day of outreach in Kalkveld, a community in desperate need. With very little water and very little work, there is a spirit of defeat and apathy in the community. We will be doing 3 school assemblies in the village, and giving out the Book of Hope to all the students. Following the assemblies, we will be hosting a community volleyball tournament, which everyone is very enthusiastic about. After the tournament, we will be having an evangelistic service in the tent by the volleyball courts! We're expecting many people to come out, and hopefully this will plant the seeds for the church by the well! PLEASE be in prayer, that people's hearts would be open, and that they would be drawn to hear the gospel. Pray for God to move in powerful ways by his Holy Spirit - that we would hear him and listen to him, and that signs and wonders would follow! Pray that God would give us supernatural strength and energy, and his eyes to see and his ears to hear. Pray that we wouldn't just TAKE every opportunity that comes our way, but that we would CHASE DOWN opportunities.

I can't wait to report back to you what God does tomorrow through your prayers and our actions, working together with his Spirit!!!!

Love and gratitude,

Pastor Courtney and the team
